We are looking for an industry-experienced specialist in engineering ceramics to join our Advanced Materials team. If you have a strong understanding of advanced ceramic materials and processes, with proven industry experience in materials science (preferably advanced ceramics), and practical experience in powder processing and forming methods, we want to hear from you! This role offers an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced environment, requiring curiosity about science and technology, and a desire to lead pioneering R&D projects across aerospace, nuclear energy, defense, and more.
As a Senior Ceramics Process Engineer, you will partner with clients to scope, develop, and deliver projects of commercial and scientific value. You will work mainly in the nuclear, aerospace, and defense sectors, developing materials and manufacturing processes including slurry and dough formulations, pressing and casting processes, additive manufacturing, and ceramic matrix composites. Located in our state-of-the-art facility in Stone, Staffordshire, you will utilize our unique facilities to work on a wide range of ceramic materials, from alumina and zirconia to silicon carbide, ultra-high temperature ceramics, transparent ceramics, and scintillators.
The work is varied, and we are seeking someone comfortable learning about new materials and manufacturing techniques. A strong foundation in ceramics processing and a willingness to learn from and guide colleagues are essential for developing future materials.
