Job description

The Circuit Card Assembly Business unit produces high complexity products in a high mix, low volume manufacturing system. Could you be the Process Engineer to fit in this environment?

Salary: Circa £43,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Minimum of 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS). Full UK SC clearance and no dual nationality are required.

The opportunity:

This role is for a process engineer in the Circuit Card Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing business unit, focusing on high-complexity products. The business is rapidly growing to meet a large backlog, with production output expected to more than triple in 5-10 years.

You will work closely with test, manufacturing, and quality engineers, building strong relationships with stakeholders including operations, design support, and calibration teams.

Role responsibilities:

• Support manufacturing growth and rate increases
• Support Continuous Improvement activities
• Manage Non-Conformance processes
• Interface with design during prototype and production phases for Design for Manufacture (DfM) and change implementation
• Ensure processes and equipment promote a safe working environment
• Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, processes, and equipment
• Resolve issues on the shop floor
• Perform and review PFMEAs
• Develop tooling for manufacturing
• Create and modify machine programmes for PCBAs

What we're looking for:

• Experience in Circuit Card Manufacturing or Design
• Knowledge of PCBA Processes and Technologies
• Motivated and enthusiastic team supporter
• Proactive in process improvements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (ERP, MES)
• IPC J Std-001 and IPC-610 training beneficial
• Knowledge of Electro Static Discharge prevention beneficial

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 in technical engineering or craft apprenticeship

OR

• HND or equivalent in a relevant subject

OR

• BEng/BSc in relevant engineering/technical degree
