Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust seeks a senior leader for Pathology, encompassing Cellular Pathology and Microbiology at Peterborough City Hospital. You will steer day-to-day delivery within budget, recruit and develop teams, and shape service planning with clinical leads.

The role requires HCPC registration and extensive senior managerial experience in a clinical laboratory, with governance and quality accreditation knowledge.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in Biomedical Science or IBMS recognised diplomas with CPD.
• HCPC registration as Biomedical or Clinical Scientist is required.
• Senior managerial and supervisory experience in a clinical lab is essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical and scientific development of Cellular Pathology and Microbiology services.
• Deliver a high-quality, patient-focused service within budget and policy.
• Lead recruitment, retention and staff development across sites.
• Collaborate with pathology and clinical leads on strategy and service planning.
• Lead by example, engage staff, and ensure equity across teams.
