Bellrock Compliance seeks experienced CDM Consultants to lead Principal Designer duties across London, the Home Counties and Southeast. The role involves site visits, reporting and close collaboration with clients, contractors and internal teams.

You will deliver CDM Principal Designer duties, support clients with CDM-Advisor tasks, and manage multiple projects including high-rise refurbishment and commercial work. Travel and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years' experience in construction with CDM/Health & Safety focus.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and related legislation.
  • Full and clean driving licence.
  • IMaPs or IOSH membership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfil the duties of the Principal Designer under CDM 2015, including acting as CDM-Advisor when needed.
  • Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate pre-construction phases to control risks.
  • Gather preconstruction information, assess adequacy and advise on gaps.
  • Manage multiple projects, especially high-rise residential refurbishment, development and commercial sectors.
  • Attend client meetings, carry out H&S site inspections and deliver high-quality reports on time.
  • Provide clear Health and Safety guidance to project teams throughout all stages.
  • Collate, prepare and issue Health & Safety Files for clients.
  • Manage agreed fees, invoicing, closing out appointments and support debtor control.
  • Explore cross-sell opportunities across Bellrock teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will be fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015 including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM-Advisor to support the client.
  • You’ll have relevant knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and other relevant legislation, and you’ll be able to apply and implement those requirements at project level.
  • You’ll be planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating pre-construction phases of projects to identify, eliminate, or control significant and foreseeable risks relating to construction, maintenance, cleaning and using the building as a workplace.
  • You’ll work with the client to gather preconstruction information, assess the adequacy, identify gaps and provide advice on how they might be filled and distribute to those that need it.
  • You’ll be managing multiple projects for key clients to the business particularly focused on the high-rise residential refurbishment, development and commercial sector.
  • You’ll be attending client meetings and carrying out H&S site inspections and delivering high quality reports to the client within agreed deadlines.
  • You will be providing clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project.
  • You’ll be responsible for collating, preparing and issuing Health & Safety Files to the client.
  • You’ll be responsible for managing agreed fees, confirm invoicing, closing out appointments and supporting debtor control.
  • You’ll be responsible for exploring potential cross-sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.
Skills & Experience
  • You have a minimum of 2-5 year’s experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction.
  • You have excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation.
  • You hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • You ideally are an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs) or IOSH.
  • You have a full and clean driver’s license.
  • You will need a willingness to travel to varied sites across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast.
  • You will need to be well motivated.
  • You will need to be a good communicator with interpersonal and organisational skills.

Working arrangements
