Job summary

Millbank Holdings seeks a experienced CDM professional to play a key role in delivering Principal Designer services across regulated environments such as defence, power, and public sector. You will support projects from concept to completion, embedding health and safety throughout design and construction.

Role suits candidates with CDM expertise, regulatory knowledge, and consultancy background. UK SC Security Clearance eligibility and right to work in the UK are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher-level qualification in architecture, engineering, construction management, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
• Experience in consultancy supporting projects in highly regulated sectors.
• Sound knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and practical application.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards chartership (advantageous).
• Eligibility to obtain UK SC Security Clearance and unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support Principal Designer responsibilities under UK CDM regulations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate health and safety risks across design, construction, handover.
• Collaborate with designers, contractors and clients for safe, compliant delivery.
• Plan, coordinate and administer CDM-related activities and stakeholder communication.
• Contribute to internal guidance and training to strengthen CDM competence.

Working closely with experienced CDM professionals, you will help ensure health and safety considerations are embedded throughout the design and construction process while contributing to the successful delivery of Principal Designer services.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

• Support the delivery of Principal Designer responsibilities in line with current UK CDM legislation.
• Assist project teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating health and safety risks throughout design, construction, and project handover stages.
• Work collaboratively with designers, contractors, and clients to promote safe and compliant project delivery.
• Contribute to the planning, coordination, and administration of CDM-related activities, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Help strengthen CDM awareness and competence by supporting the development and delivery of internal guidance and training initiatives.

You will have the following qualifications and experience

• Degree or higher-level qualification in architecture, engineering, construction management, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience within a consultancy environment, ideally supporting projects in highly regulated sectors.
• Sound knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and their practical application.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, or actively working towards professional chartership, would be advantageous.
• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK SC Security Clearance and possess the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
