Job summary

Brightwork Ltd. is recruiting on behalf of our client in Falkirk for a Temporary Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor. The role is based in a busy canteen environment and requires rota-based hours, with shifts between 6am and 7pm, and occasional evenings/weekends.

The successful candidate will deputise for the Catering Manager, supervise staff, monitor service quality, and ensure compliance with food safety and local/national requirements. £17.00 per hr.

Qualifications

• Current Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Experience in commercial catering environment.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance.

Job description

This role is being advertised by Brightwork who are recruiting for our client in Falkirk and we require a Temporary Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor for our clients site. We are looking for an experienced Senior Catering Assistant / Supervisor to work in a busy canteen environment based in Falkirk.

Your Time at Work

Hours of work are on a rota basis: 35 hours per week. This role is shift based shift hours are between 6am and 7.00pm. There may also be a requirement for occasional evening/ weekend work.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• To support and assist the Catering Manager (deputising where required) in the delivery of the catering provision
• Monitor service delivery at meal times to ensure that standards and procedures are consistently maintained
• Supervise and engage with the catering assistants and placements
• Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with current legislative practice and in conjunction with the Food Safety Scotland guidelines
• Completion of all routine administration and communications relevant to local and national requirements (weekly checks, food safety checks etc.)
• Monitor food waste and manage stock levels advising the Catering Manager when stock is coming to its end of shelf life or needs to be replenished assist in the planning of menus, stock ordering and catering to meet the dietary needs of all college users

• Minimum of current Food Hygiene Certificate
• Experience of Catering / Cooking within a commercial catering environment.
• Proven track record of working within a similar environment
• Proven knowledge of current legislative requirements and statutory compliance
