Job Summary

Are you an experienced Senior Category Manager seeking to join an ambitious team within one of the UK's most complex NHS Trusts? The Senior Category Manager will lead the Corporate category team and play a key role in developing and implementing the new Procurement and Supply Chain operating model and strategy across Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the 'Smart Together' Shared Service for corporate services procurement.

We are embarking on an exciting transformation journey aimed at enhancing our operations and delivering greater value to the Trusts we serve.

Role Overview

We are looking for a forward-thinking and innovative Senior Category Manager to oversee our corporate procurement category and deliver a large, complex procurement program. You will develop our commercial approach through Category Management and Strategic Sourcing, collaborating with the senior leadership team to foster a high-performing culture built on trust and accountability.

Main Duties
  1. Report to the Associate Director of Non-Clinical Procurement and be part of their leadership team.
  2. Lead change with innovative procurement practices, ensuring contract compliance to reduce costs and enhance patient care.
  3. Provide expert procurement advice and support to stakeholders.
  4. Develop and manage relationships between stakeholders and procurement.
  5. Engage with multi-functional teams across Guy's and St Thomas' and the Shared Service.
  6. Work closely with clinicians, service managers, suppliers, professional bodies, partner organisations, and system colleagues.
  7. Lead corporate procurement programs and support the implementation of category and sourcing strategies across complex projects.
  8. Demonstrate resilience, positivity, and forward-thinking, striving for high standards in procurement that support patient care, innovation, and sustainability.
