Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Residential Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team, supervise shifts and ensure high-quality, person-centred support. You will be responsible for training staff, delegating duties, and helping maintain a safe and compassionate residence.

In this role you will administer and order medications, review care plans and risk assessments, and coordinate with GPs, district nurses and residents' families.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care to join us as a Residential Senior Care Assistant.
• You will have previous experience in a residential care setting along with proven team leadership skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions to support the needs and wellbeing of our Residents.
• We're looking for people who are warm-hearted, compassionate and committed to giving each resident individualised care and support.

• Many of our Senior Carer Assistants progress into Care Practitioners, Care Community Leads or on to nursing pathways.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of care staff, including training, supervisions and delegating duties on shift.
• Support with administering and ordering of medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessment.
• Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and resident family members.
• Uphold dignity and preferences of residents and foster a warm, welcoming, vibrant environment.
