Job summary

Age Concern Hampshire seeks a compassionate Senior Support Worker for our Gore Grange day care centre. You will provide person-centred care to older adults, lead a team of support workers, and assist in care planning and safeguarding to ensure high quality day services.

You will mentor staff, manage inductions and supervise rotas, while maintaining accurate records and promoting dignity and wellbeing in every client interaction.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.
• Experience in care settings with older adults, including dementia.
• Sound knowledge of dementia and its impact on individuals and families.
• Experience supervising or supporting others in a care environment.
• Strong communication in verbal and written form.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care to older adults attending the day centre according to care plans.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, medication administration and daily living activities.
• Plan and lead meaningful activities including dementia-friendly approaches.
• Lead and mentor support workers; assist with rotas and staffing coverage.
• Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and maintain confidential records.
• Promote safeguarding and report concerns per procedures.
