Job summary

Brookes Recruitment Group is recruiting a Senior Support Worker for a specialist residential service in Braunton. You will lead shifts, support the care team and deliver safe, person-centred care to adults with physical disabilities and neurological conditions.

The role involves medication administration, keeping accurate records, following care plans, and promoting independence. Strong communication and safeguarding knowledge are essential, with a permanent, full-time contract and day/night

Qualifications

• Previous experience within care, support work or a similar setting.
• Experience leading shifts or taking senior responsibility.
• Medication administration experience.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate staff during allocated shifts.
• Administering medication safely and accurately.
• Completing medication records and associated documentation.
• Supporting colleagues with care delivery and decision-making.
• Providing personal care and practical support where required.
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and support plans.
• Promoting independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
• Monitoring individuals and reporting changes or concerns.
• Completing accurate daily records and effective handovers.
• Supporting new or less-experienced members of staff.
• Responding to incidents and emergencies.
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.
