Job summary

Prestwick Care Group is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for Bay View House in Whitley Bay. This full-time role involves leading care delivery, ensuring residents' comfort and dignity, and supporting a care team.

The ideal candidate has experience in senior care settings, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards), excellent communication skills and a compassionate, professional approach. Training and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Senior Carer, Team Leader or similar role in care settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and motivate staff.
• Knowledge of care planning, risk assessments and safeguarding.
• English proficiency to perform the role.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights and weekends.
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents.
• Supervise and mentor junior care staff.
• Develop and review person-centred care plans and risk assessments.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and mobility.
• Record and report residents' condition to nursing staff/management.
• Communicate with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in audits, handovers and team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards and safety procedures.
