Job summary

Prestwick Care Group in Gateshead is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to provide high-quality, person-centred care and lead the care team. You will role-model best practices, support staff development and ensure residents’ comfort, dignity and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate has experience as a Senior Carer or Team Leader, NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, and strong communication skills. The role is full-time and on-site in a supportive, growing company atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Carer, Team Leader or similar in care settings.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
• Excellent communication and support skills.
• Knowledge of care planning, risk assessments and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care with dignity and safety.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff to promote best practices.
• Develop and review person-centred care plans and risk assessments.
• Assist residents with daily living activities.
• Monitor and report residents' condition to nursing staff.
• Communicate with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
