Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society in Cumbria Emmaus House Care Home is seeking a compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our care team and support the health and well-being of older residents. The role emphasizes a personal, dignified approach to care within a Christian care environment.

You will lead shifts, supervise staff, and provide hands-on support with personal care, meals, and daily activities while ensuring care plans are current and residents stay connected to the community within the home.

Qualifications

• Empathy for older people and ability to relate to their needs.
• RQF accreditation in Health & Social Care at level 3 or above.
• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant in residential care.
• Willing to lead shifts and take a hands-on role as required.
• Able to work in a team and take on any task to provide excellent care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality, professional service of care to residents.
• Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your shift, including health, safety and security; administer medications; arrange cover for absences.
• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents to offer comfort and reassurance.
• Supervise the overall wellbeing of residents.
• Ensure care plans are up-to-date.
• Encourage residents to stay independent and engaged within the home.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist in end-of-life care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
