Job summary

Barchester care home is seeking a Bank Residential Senior Carer to lead a shift-based care team, ensuring quality, person-centred support for residents. You will supervise staff, train and delegate duties while helping with medication management and care planning.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care, prior residential care experience, and a compassionate approach. Bank hours vary, offering flexible coverage to meet residents’ needs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care to join us as a Residential Senior Care Assistant.
• Previous experience in a residential care setting with proven team leadership skills.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions to support residents’ needs and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of care staff, including training, supervision and delegating duties on shift.
• Assist with administering and ordering medication, reviewing and updating care plans and risk assessments.
• Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and resident family members to ensure quality care.
• Provide warm, compassionate, personalised care while respecting residents’ dignity and preferences.
