Job summary

Roseberry Care is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Primrose Lodge in North Shields. You will provide hands-on resident support and lead junior staff across day and night shifts, ensuring high standards of person-centred care.

We value dignity and independence; NVQ3 in Health & Social Care (or progress toward it) is preferred. 33-44 hours per week with alternate weekends; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Salary: £13.70/hour

Hours: 33-44 Hours/week - day and night shift available with alternate weekends

Your Role

As a Senior Care Assistant you will provide both hands-on support to residents and leadership to junior care staff within our local care home. Providing direct caregiving with supervisory responsibilities, you will ensure that our high standards of person-centred care are consistently delivered.

You'll Be Responsible For

• Assisting residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, etc.).
• Promote dignity, independence, and individual rights of residents.
• Supervise and support junior care staff and new team members.
• Monitoring residents' conditions and report any changes to senior management or nursing staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, ensuring they feel listened to and respected.
• Ensure the care environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a Senior Carer or similar role in a care home environment
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it)
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• A genuine passion for elderly care and team development
