Job summary

Welford Healthcare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Windmill Court Care Home in Wadebridge. The role involves supporting residents with daily activities, care plans, and social engagement in a compassionate, team-based environment.

You will require a Care Certificate and be prepared to pursue NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care to qualify, with opportunities for ongoing training and career development.

Qualifications

• Must hold Care Certificate and be willing to take NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Providing physical and mental stimulation for residents by taking part in social and recreational activities, on a one-to-one and group basis.
• Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
• Assisting with mealtimes.
• Delivering person-centred care that recognises residents' independence, dignity and respect.
• Helping to maintain accurate records.
• Undertaking regular ongoing training.
• Developing relationships with residents and families to better understand needs.
• Reviews with external health professionals.
• Lead the team of care assistants.
• Administer medication.

Senior Care Assistant

Hours: Full-time/Part-time

Location: Windmill Court, St Minver, Wadebridge, Cornwall, PL27 6RD

At Windmill Court Care Home we are looking for a hardworking team player who is passionate about developing a career in the social care industry as a Senior Care Assistant. You will be motivated and compassionate, with a genuine interest in benefitting the lives of those within our care.

You MUST hold Care Certificate and be willing to take NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care to qualify for this position.

Responsibilities of the Senior Care Assistant:

• Providing physical and mental stimulation for residents by taking part in social and recreational activities, on a one-to-one and group basis
• Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing
• Assisting with mealtimes
• Ensuring residents' independence, dignity and respect, by delivering the very best person-centred care
• Helping to maintain accurate records
• Undertaking regular ongoing training
• Developing relationships with our residents and their families in order to gain a better understanding of how to provide the best possible care
• Reviews with external health professionals
• Lead the team of care assistants
• Administer medication
