Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm Senior Care Assistant - Nights at Hanford Court Care Home in Stoke-on-Trent. You’ll work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, respectful environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Key duties include monitoring residents’ wellbeing, contributing to monthly person-centred care plans, assisting with medications, supporting team development, and acting as a key contact for residents and families.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in care (or equivalent)
• 2 years’ experience in a care environment
• Clear communication, written and verbal
• Positive, caring attitude and flexibility to cover shifts

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' wellbeing and reflect changes in care plans
• Contribute to monthly person-centred care planning and evaluations
• Assist residents with medication needs
• Undertake staff supervision and development support
• Be a key contact for residents, relatives and health professionals and escalate concerns

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to supportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
