Job summary

Waterhouse Manor Care Home in Peterborough is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our award-winning team, delivering high standards of personal care in a safe, inclusive environment.

You will support the care team, monitor residents’ wellbeing, assist with medications, supervise staff, and be the main point of contact for residents and relatives. A DBS check will be funded, and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support and work with the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.
• Monitor the wellbeing of residents and update care plans and written records as needed.
• Assist residents with medication requirements as directed.
• Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development where required.
• Act as a key contact for residents, relatives and health professionals and escalate concerns.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.

• Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
