Job summary

Bower Care Home in Linlithgow is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to help shape the new home’s standards and culture. You will support colleagues, build positive working relationships, and create a warm, well-organised environment for residents and families.

You will lead hand-on care, oversee medication, monitor wellbeing, and maintain accurate care records, collaborating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care

Job description

Bower Care Home is a purpose built care home in Linlithgow, providing residential, dementia, nursing and respite care in a modern and welcoming environment. With 60 en suite bedrooms and a range of excellent facilities, the home offers a comfortable setting for residents and a rewarding environment for our dedicated care team.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

Joining a brand new care home from the very beginning offers a genuinely exciting opportunity to help shape the standards, culture and day to day care environment as the service develops. As part of the team from the outset, you will play an important role in supporting colleagues, building positive working relationships and helping create a warm, welcoming and well organised home for residents and families.

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

What We Are Looking For
