Job summary

Avery Park Care Home in Kettering is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our award-winning team. You’ll work with the Care team to deliver high-quality personal care in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment, supported by a culture that values compassion and development.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in care, at least 2 years’ experience in a similar setting, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 in care (or equivalent) is required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
  • Strong communication and a patient, compassionate approach.
  • Flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of personal care and support residents safely.
  • Participate in person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
  • Assist residents with medication needs as required.
  • Supervise and support junior staff development when needed.
  • Be a key point of contact for residents, relatives and health/social care professionals, escalating concerns as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
