Job summary

Bridge Oak Care Homes in Leeds seeks a dedicated Senior Care Assistant at Augustus Court, Garforth. This permanent, full-time role (44 hours per week, alternating weekends) offers £13.85 per hour and sponsorship is not available.

You will support residents with daily living, supervise junior staff, promote dignity and independence, and help organise activities. The ideal candidate has NVQ level 3 or is willing to work towards it and shares a warm, compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 (or willing to work towards this)
• Previous experience in a similar role

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Residents with daily living.
• Support training and supervision of junior staff in all aspects of their work in the Home, under supervision of senior staff.
• Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional and spiritual) while preserving comfort and dignity.
• Assist residents with limited mobility and use of aids.
• Monitor residents who may be confused or have behavioural issues.
• Assist in promotion of continence.
• Assist in care for residents who are dying or with progressive illness and assist with last offices.
• Complete and review care planning and written daily records.
• Encourage social activities and hobbies within the Home.
• Answer nurse call, door, and telephone promptly and relay messages.
