Job summary

Elizabeth Finn Homes is seeking a compassionate Senior Care Assistant at Merlewood Care Home, Virginia Water. You will support nursing and care teams to deliver person-centred care, upholding residents' dignity, independence, and safety.

Role requires supervising junior staff, maintaining high standards of care, and contributing to care plans. Suitable candidates have Level 2/3 in Care and 3+ years' experience caring for older people.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education with good numeracy and literacy.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Level 2 and 3 in Care.
• Minimum 3 years experience caring for older people.
• Understanding of professional Codes of Practice in social care
• Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication

Responsibilities

• Participate in and ensure delivery of high standard Personal Care to Residents.
• Carry out clinical procedures as instructed by Head of Department or Registered Nurse.
• Familiar with social and health care plans and document care accordingly.
• Report changes in Residents condition to Head of Department or Registered Nurse.
• Promote mental and physical activity by engaging residents in activities.
• Ensure resident areas are hygienic, safe and comfortable at all times.
• Manage equipment and stocks, ensuring safe storage and economy.
• Welcome and assist residents and visitors and refer to senior staff when needed.
• Report any complaints, incidents or accidents immediately to seniors.
• Be accountable for team performance and partake in training and supervision.
• Inform management if colleague practices may compromise safety or standards.
• Ensure security of residents and premises by following procedures.
• Contribute to record-keeping and reporting requirements, including accidents and incidents.
