Job summary

Prestwick Care Group is recruiting a Permanent Full Time Care Assistant for our Bede House location in the North East of England. You will provide essential personal care and support to residents, helping maintain dignity and comfort while working closely with nurses and senior carers.

This role suits compassionate individuals aiming to build a career in health and social care, with full training, ongoing development, and opportunities for progression within a growing family-run provider.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
• Caring, compassionate and calm disposition.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• English proficiency sufficient to carry out the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting and eating.
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and physical activities as needed.
• Monitor and record residents’ vital signs as trained.
• Provide emotional support, reassurance and companionship to residents.
• Assist nursing staff and senior carers with basic care tasks.
• Promote dignity, privacy and choice at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and the healthcare team.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and company policies and procedures.
