Job summary

Avery Healthcare's St Giles Care Home in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Care Assistant who will work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, supportive environment. You will support residents, monitor wellbeing and help with care plans, ensuring records reflect changes and that every resident feels valued.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 in care and at least 2 years in a similar setting, with strong communication skills and a compassionate, flexible

Qualifications

• Have NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wellbeing of each resident and update care plans as needed.
• Participate in person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
• Assist residents with medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervision and support staff development.
• Act as key contact for residents, relatives and professionals, escalating concerns as required.
