Job summary

Alderbrook Care Home is a modern care facility in Leeds, providing specialist complex care for up to 140 residents. The Senior Care Assistant role involves hands-on care, medication oversight, and ensuring a well-organised, safe shift within a supportive team.

You will work with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to follow care plans and maintain accurate records, contributing to a calm, patient-focused environment for residents with complex needs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required; Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training and competency.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team within a care environment.
• Ability to support individuals with complex needs, including mental health or behavioural support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Calm, patient and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high quality, person-centred care for individuals with complex needs.
• Oversee medication administration and monitoring of residents’ wellbeing.
• Ensure care plans are followed, records kept accurately, and communications with families and professionals maintained.
• Lead and guide Care Assistants to maintain a calm, safe shift environment.
