Job summary

Nurse Seekers is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for a luxury retirement home in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. The small, family-run home houses 14 residents and has a proud 40+ year heritage, offering a warm, homely atmosphere.

Your role includes leading care staff on shift, delivering high-quality care, supporting daily living needs with dignity, and maintaining accurate records. NVQ3 in Health & Social Care is desirable.

Qualifications

• Desirable NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in a senior care role within a care home.
• Experience supporting older people and dementia care is desirable.
• Medication training is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Senior Care Assistant - Luxury Retirement Home - AV2053

Location: Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Pay: £13.75 per hour.

Hours: Days - 25 Hours per week

About the Home

This small, family-owned care home in Sleaford provides a warm, friendly and genuinely homely environment for just 14 residents.

Established over 40 years ago, the home has a strong family heritage and remains independently owned and managed. The current manager is the third generation of the family to be involved in the business, with the fourth generation regularly visiting and getting to know residents and staff.

The home takes great pride in providing the same high standard of care that you would want for your own parents. The manager is involved in every aspect of the home and knows residents and their families personally, creating a close-knit environment where everyone is treated as an individual.

This is not a large corporate care setting. Instead, it offers a small, relaxed and friendly home-from-home atmosphere, where residents are known personally and staff are genuinely encouraged to build meaningful relationships.

The Chestnuts has an exceptionally loyal and experienced staff team, with some employees having been part of the home for up to 25 years. The low staff turnover reflects the supportive culture and happy, settled environment.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting residents with their day-to-day care while helping to guide and support the wider care team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring and supporting care staff on shift

• Supporting residents with daily living needs in a dignified and respectful manner
• Administering medication (training provided if required)
• Maintaining accurate care plans and documentation

About You

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
• Previous experience in a senior care role within a care home
• Experience supporting older people
• Dementia care experience is desirable
• Medication training is desirable but not essential
• A compassionate, caring and team-focused approach
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Someone who enjoys working in a small, family-oriented environment
• A genuine passion for providing outstanding, person-centred care
