Job summary

The Polegate Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support the team in providing safe, person-centred care for residents in Polegate, East Sussex. You will oversee your shift, ensuring care is well-organised and delivered to a high standard, including medication oversight and accurate record-keeping.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable) and medication administration competency.

The Polegate Care Home is a 43 bed nursing care home located in Polegate, East Sussex, close to the town centre and the beautiful South Downs. Providing personalised nursing care and short term stays, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £15.70 to £16.30 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid PVG/DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
