Job summary

Avery Healthcare's Acorn Lodge Care Home in Nuneaton is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant to support the care team and deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, respectful environment.

You will monitor residents' wellbeing, participate in care planning, assist with medications, and provide guidance to junior staff. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in care for care homes.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar care environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team.
• Monitor wellbeing of residents and reflect changes in care plans.
• Contribute to person-centred care planning, monitoring, and evaluations.
• Assist residents with medication requirements as needed.
• Hold staff supervisions and support staff development where required.
• Serve as key point of contact with residents, relatives and health/social care professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilitieswillinclude: Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation. Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations. Supporting residents with their medication requirements. Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required. Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
