Job summary

Ashlea Court Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support the care team in delivering safe, high quality, person-centred care for residents. You will oversee shifts, ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard, and play a key role in medication management and resident wellbeing.

You will maintain care records and collaborate with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the care team to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care

Job description

Our care home is nestled in the urban yet accessible Ashgill. We offer Nursing, Residential, Dementia & Respite care for 86-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 48 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
