Job summary

Ashgrove Care Home in Hounslow is recruiting a Chef on a part-time contract to prepare high-quality meals for residents. You will have a stable pattern with no late evenings, and the role includes paid Enhanced DBS, pension, and uniform. 5.6 weeks of annual leave is offered based on a full-time contract.

You will lead food preparation, tailor meals to dietary needs, maintain hygiene standards and work with a supportive kitchen team to deliver nourishing meals daily.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen.

Job description

Ashgrove Care Home is a 49 bed, purpose built care home located in Hounslow, West London. Providing nursing and nursing dementia care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment with bright, accessible living spaces, inviting lounges, dining areas and a private garden. Colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Chef Contract

• £15.05 to £15.65 per hour
• Contracted to 19 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.
