Job summary

Godden Lodge Care Home in Thundersley, Benfleet, Essex, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a caring team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

You will be responsible for shift efficiency, medication oversight, resident wellbeing and accurate records, while communicating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure safe, consistent care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support your team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

• Ensure care is organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard.

Job description

Godden Lodge Care Home is a 123 bed care home located in Thundersley, Benfleet, Essex, close to the coast. Providing residential, nursing and dementia care, the home offers a welcoming and friendly environment with comfortable shared spaces, landscaped gardens and plenty of opportunities for Residents to pursue their hobbies, socialise and spend time with family and friends. Colleagues work as part of an experienced and caring team, providing personalised support and high quality care that helps Residents feel valued and supported.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 to £14.95 per hour
• Contracted to 33 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
