Job summary

Woodlands Care Home in the Craigiebuckler area of Aberdeen provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative care for 81 residents. The Senior Care Assistant will guide the team to deliver safe, compassionate care on every shift while maintaining records and liaising with families and healthcare professionals.

The role requires SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable), medication competency, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and work closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

Job description

Our care home, nestled in the tranquil Craigiebuckler area of Aberdeen, offers distinguished care services tailored to a variety of needs, including Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite, and Palliative care. With a capacity for 81 residents, we provide a serene and supportive environment where personalized care meets exceptional living.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 45 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
