Job summary

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital is seeking a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardiac Unit in Leeds. The role involves a comprehensive range of cardiac diagnostic tests, device monitoring and clinics, and will support MDT governance and patient care standards.

You will hold a BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent), RCCP/AHCS registration and BHRS/IBHRE Devices Accreditation, with at least two years’ higher-level experience post accreditation.

Qualifications

• BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent) with RCCP/AHCS registration.
• BHRS/IBHRE Devices Accreditation and at least two years’ experience post devices accreditation.
• Ability to perform and interpret a wide range of cardiac diagnostic tests.
• Strong communication and collaboration with MDT and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic coronary angiography, PCI, and other cardiac procedures in the cath lab as part of the MDT.
• Lead cardiac device follow-up clinics and ensure device functionality and battery longevity.
• Ensure stock availability for implantation procedures and maintain records for audits and governance.
• Conduct non-invasive tests (ECG, Ambulatory ECGs/BP, exercise tolerance tests) per guidelines.
• Provide training, mentorship and competency assessments for junior staff and colleagues.
• Promote evidence-based practice and act as a clinical role model for the department and hospital.
