Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a cardiology physiology professional to perform a full range of cardiac investigations and procedures. The role spans Non-Invasive, Invasive and Cardiac Rhythm Management areas, with emphasis on patient-centred care and training of students and junior staff.

The post requires involvement in ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, exercise tests, tilt tests, invasive angiography, and device follow-ups, supported by an expanding diagnostic team and ongoing

Qualifications

• Experience in non-invasive cardiac investigations such as ECGs, ambulatory monitoring and tilt tests.
• Experience in invasive cardiac procedures including diagnostic and interventional angiography.
• Experience in rhythm management device checks and follow ups.

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret and report 12-lead ECGs.
• Ambulatory ECG monitors and ambulatory BP monitors.
• Exercise tolerance tests, physiologist- and doctor-led.
• Tilt table testing.
• Patient monitoring, haemodynamic recording and reporting during diagnostic and interventional angiography.
• Supervise and troubleshoot in the cardiac cath lab for PCI, PPCI, OCT, rotablation, IVUS, pressure wires, and IABP.
• Recognise and manage acute situations involving external pacing, defibrillation and CPR.
• Support and participate in the on-call cath lab service.
• Involvement in Implantable Loop Recorder follow-up and communication with patients.
• Provide technical assistance during cardiac device implants including pacemakers, conduction system pacemakers, ICDs and CRT devices.
