Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly experienced echocardiography cardiac physiologist to join our specialist team at Stoke Mandeville and associated sites. The role requires proven expertise in transthoracic echocardiography with BSE Level 2 accreditation or international equivalent, and a track record of independent practice.

You will also contribute to education, governance and service development.

Qualifications

• Relevant BSc or equivalent level of knowledge.
• British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) full accreditation (Level 2) in transthoracic echocardiography or equivalent International accreditation (e.g. EACVI).
• Intermediate Life Support Certificate (ILS).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Specialist Echocardiography Services: Independently perform and report high-quality echocardiographic investigations across inpatient, outpatient, urgent and specialist pathways.
• Provide Expert Clinical Advice: Autonomous interpretation of findings and support clinical decision-making.
• Support Education and Workforce Development: Train, mentor and assess physiologists, trainees and other healthcare professionals.
