Job summary

InHealth is seeking a part-time Cardiac Physiologist to join the echo team in Penicuik, Scotland. You will perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms in line with BSE guidelines and contribute to our audit programme.

The role supports trainee physiologists and involves clinical peer-review and second opinion guidance. The position offers hybrid/flexible working options and a comprehensive benefits package, including private medical insurance and long‑term development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards.
• Hold BSE accreditation or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms per BSE guidelines and local standards.
• Provide expert clinical guidance via second opinion rota for peer-review reporting.
• Conduct quality assurance on echocardiography equipment and take appropriate actions.
• Submit reports and archive study images per contractual requirements and SOPs.
• Liaise with hospital departments and GP practices for urgent referrals.
• Support patient bookings and maintain patient information systems.
