Job summary

The role of the Senior Project Manager is to support the Head of Capital Development, in close cooperation with other Estates Officers, in delivering capital projects within the Estates & Facilities Directorate.

To professionally manage Estates Capital Development projects, successfully delivering the programme of building and engineering works, backlog, refurbishment, and minor projects to continuously improve and develop the Trust's accommodation. Ensuring projects are designed in compliance with statutory and best practice standards and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

Main duties of the job
  • Deputise for the Head of Capital Development and lead project managers by example.
  • Manage external consultants and contractors to deliver building and engineering projects aligned with the Trust's strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all project documentation is provided, including costing, contracts, drawings, commissioning certification, O&Ms, and as-built drawings.
  • Deliver safe, well-managed, and timely construction projects.
  • Provide Care Groups and divisions with construction costing and programme information to support their business cases.
  • Lead and support other Capital Project Managers.
  • Visit sites to inspect works or survey buildings, respecting patients and visitors.
  • Create project planning and management schedules using appropriate software.
  • Use AutoCAD and other tools to develop and manipulate drawings.
  • Develop project briefing documentation and produce Project Initiation Documents.
  • Undertake and contribute to feasibility studies and option appraisals.
  • Conduct Post Project Evaluations.
