Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council in Kendal is seeking a Programme Manager to lead major capital works and infrastructure delivery, guiding schemes from feasibility through to handover and benefits realisation. This permanent role requires strategic oversight of a growing capital programme and delivery environments across multiple projects.

You will manage a cross‑functional team, work with partners and stakeholders, and ensure delivery of projects such as Marina Village and Integrated Depot

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in related professional discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of significant projects and programmes from feasibility to completion.
• Design, build and manage programme delivery environments across life-cycle stages.
• Manage public-facing projects with high community/media/political interest.
• Engage with external and internal stakeholders including funding bodies.
• Oversee major contracts or multiple smaller contracts across life-cycle stages.
• Lead a high-performing project and programme management team.
• Mentor and develop team members.
