Job summary
Optos PLC in Dunfermline is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and enhance retinal imaging workflows and clinical data management solutions. You will focus on UI and application layer development, while integrating with Optos' image and metadata platform.
The role requires collaboration with Product, DevOps and other engineering teams in an Agile setting. The position emphasizes hands‑on software development, high quality, scalable and compliant solutions for the medical eyecare
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of C#/.NET development in Windows.
- Experience building full‑stack web and desktop apps with Microsoft techs.
- Experience with Agile teams and CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with DICOM imaging and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with regulated environments and medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable software solutions.
- Implement features and enhancements using C# and related tech.
- Define integrations with internal and external systems.
- Develop user-focused applications and workflows.
- Contribute to SDLC, CI/CD, testing and quality practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote code quality.
