Job summary

NUVIA UK is seeking a Principal C&I Engineer to lead the C&I design across reactor island and beyond, providing technical direction and acting as the Intelligent Customer for the Technology Partner. You will ensure compliance with UK and international standards and deliver safe, robust, and well-documented engineering solutions.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with project managers and regulators, and drive ALARP demonstrations while maintaining high safety and quality standards across

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering C&I engineering within nuclear, defence or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles, safety related control systems and relevant standards.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage complex technical deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and regulators.
• Able to both act as Intelligent Customer (IC) and deliver C&I engineering design, analysis, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the C&I design for the project.
• Act as the Intelligent Customer for C&I deliverables from the Technology Partner, providing informed challenge and acceptance recommendations.
• Support responses to regulator questions and technical queries relating to C&I.
• Ensure C&I analysis and documentation comply with UK and international standards and safety principles.
• Contribute to ALARP demonstrations and improvements.
• Monitor progress, quality, risk and change across tasks to meet time, cost and quality targets.
• Provide regular C&I status updates to Reactor Island Lead and project team.
• Contribute to a positive safety culture and high performing technical community.
