Job summary

NUVIA UK seeks a Principal C&I Engineer to lead the C&I design across reactor island and related plant areas. You will act as intelligent customer, define scopes, issue task orders and ensure alignment with UK and international standards.

The role requires extensive nuclear/regulatory experience, strong leadership and excellent communication with clients and regulators, plus a proven ability to deliver complex C&I engineering, safety cases and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering C&I engineering within nuclear, defence or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles, safety related control systems and relevant standards (BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511, IEC 61226, IEC 61513 and IEC 62138).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage complex technical deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the C&I design for the project.
• Act as the Intelligent Customer for C&I deliverables from the Technology Partner, providing challenge, clarification and acceptance recommendations.
• Support responses to regulator questions and technical queries relating to C&I.
• Ensure C&I analysis and documentation comply with UK and international standards, codes, ONR expectations and internal nuclear safety principles.
• Contribute to ALARP demonstrations and identification of improvements.
• Monitor progress, quality, risk and change across tasks to meet time, cost and quality constraints.
• Provide regular C&I status updates to Reactor Island Lead and project management team.
• Contribute to building a safety culture aligned with client values.
