Job summary

Shearwater GeoServices in Gatwick is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. You will work across development, research and infrastructure to maintain and improve the Reveal software platform and provide technical leadership.

The role covers full software lifecycle with emphasis on high-performance computing and C++ development, architecture and stakeholder collaboration. Requires 10+ years in C++, HPC (MPI/OpenMP/CUDA), memory management and performance optimisation.

Qualifications

• C++ expertise with memory management, concurrency and performance optimisation.
• Experience in HPC and parallel computing (MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, cluster/job scheduling).
• Proven technical leadership, ability to guide engineers and communicate with stakeholders.
• Independent, proactive problem-solver with ownership mindset.
• Strong cross-team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Reveal software platform across development, research and infrastructure teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers across the team.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engage with stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.
