Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting a Senior Buyer to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project with Anglian Water. You will develop and maintain the Procurement Schedule, ensuring timely delivery of products and services on site.

You will lead a cross-disciplinary team, manage supplier relationships, run mini competitions, apply allocation methodologies, and ensure DWI compliance where required. You will drive value and sustainable procurement across SPA delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement in water, infrastructure, or construction.
• Experience integrating suppliers to deliver SPA outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Able to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your portfolio to deliver sourcing events on time and with maximum value.
• Appoint suppliers following an agreed sourcing methodology suitable for the value or complexity.
• Lead on commercial negotiations.
• Ensure relevant systems are used and updated to provide an auditable process and efficient reporting.
• Provide advice and support to the business to understand and deliver their requirements.
• Notify the relevant manager of spend trends needing investigation.
• Ensure sustainable procurement risks are understood and managed for all projects.
• Negotiate with suppliers on a 'spot buy' basis where appropriate.
• Develop wider knowledge of products and wider supply chain.

Job description

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).

The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.

What will you be doing as our new Senior Buyer (Ecosystem Manager)?

You will develop and maintain the Procurement Schedule to ensure products and services are delivered to site on time. You will need to be able to work with, and lead a team of other professionals, across disciplines such as Design, Commercial and Delivery to achieve this.

You will be responsible for ensuring value for money and building relationships with our Supply Chain Ecosystem Partners; this will be through conducting mini competitions, applying Anglian Water allocation methodologies or conducting new procurement processes. Where appropriate you will need to ensure that the products purchase comply with DWI requirements.

• Experience of procurement ideally within the Water, Infrastructure or Construction Industry
• Experience integrating suppliers such that the ecosystem delivers out-performance, brings forward opportunities for innovation to enhance the delivery of SPA outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
• The ability to deal with a high-volume workload and meet strict deadlines.
