Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Procurement Manager to join the Procurement function within a Global Construction & Infrastructure business. The Senior Procurement Manager will lead the procurement of works that keep major operational and capital programmes flowing across water and other major construction and infrastructure projects. With responsibility for a portfolio of frameworks worth over £500m and leadership of a talented procurement team, you'll be making the big calls, shaping supplier strategies and influencing investments that leave a lasting mark on critical infrastructure. This is procurement with a seat at the table, real influence, and plenty of opportunity to make your mark.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office at a modern facility in Bath.

The role of the Senior Procurement Manager

As Senior Procurement Manager, you'll be the commercial driving force behind some of our most important procurement activity. You'll turn complex challenges into smart solutions, build supplier partnerships that go beyond the transactional, and ensure every procurement delivers value, resilience and long-term impact.

You will:
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies aligned to business priorities and major capital programmes
  • Lead the full procurement lifecycle, from market engagement and sourcing through to contract award and supplier management
  • Establish, negotiate and manage high-value frameworks and contracts, including NEC and bespoke agreements
  • Build strategic supplier relationships that drive innovation, performance and sustainable outcomes
  • Ensure procurement activity complies with environmental, health & safety and regulated procurement requirements
  • Manage budgets, track savings and uncover opportunities for greater commercial value
  • Proactively manage commercial and supply chain risks
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of procurement professionals, creating a culture where people and performance thrive
Skills and experience required of the Senior Procurement Manager

You'll be a strategic thinker, a skilled negotiator and someone who knows that great procurement is about people as much as process. Comfortable navigating complexity and influencing senior stakeholders, you'll bring the experience and confidence to lead large-scale procurement activity.

You will have:
  • Substantial procurement experience within water, utilities, construction or infrastructure
  • Strong experience of regulated procurement and large-scale framework management
  • Proven success negotiating and managing complex, high-value contracts
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen
  • A strong understanding of procurement governance, risk management and supplier performance
  • The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience using e-procurement and contract management systems
  • Clear communication skills and a passion for delivering better outcomes.
The Package of the Senior Procurement Manager
  • Competitive salary
  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • Competitive car allowance (subject to conditions).
  • A performance-related bonus (subject to conditions).
  • The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
