Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. is seeking a General Foreman for the Strategic Pipeline Alliance to support delivery on a major water infrastructure programme.

This site-based role works with the Construction Manager, engineers and framework contractors to coordinate non-infra works within budget and programme. You will lead site inductions, safety briefings, supervise subcontractors, ensure safe planning and traffic management, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, ideally in the water industry.
• Experience supervising subcontractors.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and construction techniques.
• SMSTS and CSCS Supervisors Card required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver site inductions, daily/site safety briefings to contractor personnel and maintain records.
• Plan and carry out works safely and cost-effectively.
• Coordinate vehicle and plant movements with pedestrian segregation.
• Promote a healthy safety culture and challenge unsafe practices.
• Coordinate material deliveries and maintain site security.
• Support Construction Manager and Engineers in planning upcoming works and resource availability.
• Coordinate contractors’ activities and manage interfaces.
• Review productivity and assist with programme planning and progress reporting.
• Maintain daily diaries, quantities of works and photographic evidence.

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects?

The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a General Foremen to support and enhance our project delivery team.

What will you be doing as our new General Foreman? You will work within the site team, supporting the Construction Manager and working alongside Engineers and Framework Contractors to successfully deliver and coordinate non-infra works within budget and programme whilst promoting a positive behavioural safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Delivery of site inductions, daily site briefings and safety briefings to framework contractor site personnel covering appropriate health, safety and environmental topics and ensure records of briefings are maintained
• Ensure that all works are properly planned and carried out in safe and controlled manner and in a cost-efficient manner
• Coordinate vehicle and plant movements on site ensuring pedestrian segregation
• Promote a healthy safety culture on site, challenging behaviours and promoting good practice
• Coordinate deliveries of materials to site and maintain site security
• Support Construction Manager and Engineers in the planning of upcoming works, ensuring adequate labour, plant and materials are available to deliver the works in line with the programme
• Coordination of framework contractors’ construction activities on site ensuring interfaces are adequately managed
• Review productivity on site and support Construction manager and Planner with programme
• Maintain adequate site records inclusive of daily diaries, quantities of works completed and photographic evidence
• Support Site Engineers with completion of Inspection and Test Records
