Job summary

Rise Resourcing is recruiting a Buyer for a leading retailer in North London. You will be responsible for delivering commercially focused product ranges and maintaining a strategic focus to drive growth in core grocery categories.

You will build strong relationships with FMCG suppliers, source and negotiate best costs, analyse sales, manage stock levels, and present insights to senior management. The role requires strong communication and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Buyer/Senior Buyer/Buying Manager in a fast-paced FMCG environment, preferably Food/Beverage/Non-Food grocery.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with a track record of cost savings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across all levels.
• Solid Excel and MS Office knowledge with budget awareness.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with large FMCG suppliers.
• Sourcing suppliers and negotiating best cost prices.
• Analyse sales figures to plan successful future product lines.
• Review levels of own-brand stock and ensure adequate levels while minimising risk.
• Present reports and trends to Senior Management.
• Handle supplier queries and resolve escalations.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity.
• Collaborate with the own-brand development team on new product alignment.

You will be responsible for delivering a commercially focused product ranges that meet both company and team targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth in the core grocery category.

• Building & maintaining strong relationships with large FMCG suppliers
• Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices
• Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines
• Review levels of own brand stock & ensure adequate levels are available and minimise risk
• Presenting reports, figures and trend information to the Senior Management team
• Dealing and resolving escalated supplier queries
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity
• Working with own brand development team to ensure new products adhere to department business plans

Key requirements for the role;

• Proven experience as Buyer / Senior Buyer / Buying Manager within a fast paced, FMCG environment preferably Food / Beverage / Non Food grocery
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
• Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing FMCG market.
• Good level of education, degree is preferable
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
• Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects
• Excellent understanding of all MS Office products including advanced Excel
