Job summary

dSb Recruitment Consultancy Ltd. is partnering with a well-established consumer business to recruit a Senior Buyer into its commercial team. This broad buying role oversees a portfolio of products, working with suppliers and internal teams to deliver the right range, pricing and performance.

The role requires commuting to the North West London office, with two days per week in the office. Ideal candidates will have strong buying experience in FMCG and related consumer categories and be proactive

• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Experience managing products from sourcing through to launch.

SENIOR BUYER – FMCG / CONVENIENCE - 7 Month FTC

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are partnering with a well-established and growing consumer business to recruit a Senior Buyer into its commercial team. This is a broad buying role with responsibility for developing and managing a portfolio of products, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver the right range, pricing and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of products within a fast-paced consumer environment
• Building strong, commercially focused relationships with UK and international suppliers
• Identifying new products, trends and opportunities to strengthen the range
• Negotiating pricing, terms and promotional opportunities
• Using sales, margin and market data to inform buying decisions
• Working closely with internal teams across merchandising, marketing, supply chain and operations
• Managing the critical path from product selection through to launch
• Monitoring category performance and identifying opportunities for growth
• Supporting wider commercial and strategic projects as the business continues to evolve

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant product area within an established business, where buying has a real influence on the overall commercial performance.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Senior Buyer with a strong commercial mindset and experience within a fast-moving consumer environment.

You will ideally have:

• Proven buying experience within FMCG, grocery, convenience, wholesale or a related consumer category
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
• Experience managing products from sourcing through to launch
• A good understanding of pricing, margin, sales and commercial performance
• Confidence working with data and using insight to support buying decisions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to identify opportunities
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with imported products and international suppliers would be advantageous

Please note: applicants must be able to commute to the North West London office within approximately one hour, as the role requires two days per week in the office.
