Job summary

OLG Recruitment is seeking a Senior Buyer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Hull. The role oversees procurement activities at Saltend Chemicals Park, driving contract development, management and cross-site initiatives.

You will handle tender processes, supplier performance, and interface with technical representatives and internal customers to ensure compliant, efficient purchasing. The position prioritizes policy adherence and governance within a busy chemical procurement environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified member of CIPS, or working towards.
• Experience in contract development including terms & conditions, structure and strategy.
• Experience with contract management including supply chain efficiencies and performance issues.
• Experience liaising with technical representatives and coordinating with internal customers.
• Project & Capex purchasing support experience.
• Management/admin of invitation to tender processes experience.
• Experience with procurement systems.
• Experience of working to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage all procurement activities at Saltend Chemicals Park.
• Contract development including terms & conditions, structure, strategy and cross-site initiatives.
• Appropriate contract management including supply chain efficiencies and supplier performance issues.
• Provide ongoing management of contracts in liaison with nominated technical representatives and other internal customers.
• Project and Capex purchasing support, including selection of contracting styles.
• Assist with management of invitation to tender processes.
• Contribute to development of procurement policy, procedures and systems.
• Coordinate and manage audits related to clients and suppliers.
• Promote use of the PSS system.
• Liaise with departments in pre-qualification of suppliers.
• Support compliance with legal and finance functions.
