Location: Gloucester, England

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (45-minute break)

They specialise in industrial coatings, spray equipment, abrasives, compressors, and welding supplies. The company operates in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, offering high-quality products and tailored services.

The Role

The senior buyer will manage procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, supplier relationships, and supply chain efficiency. This role covers procurement for materials and key services, representing a significant portion of the company's revenue. The successful candidate will work closely with customer service, accounts, warehouse, and production teams to maintain stock control and ensure high fulfilment rates.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials and services at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to negotiate pricing and improve supply chain performance
• Manage stock levels, conduct audits, and ensure accurate inventory records
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency
• Ensure procurement processes align with business needs and delivery requirements
• Maintain and update procurement systems (ERP - OrderWise)

Requirements

• Experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management within an FMCG or industrial setting
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Knowledge of stock control, order processing, and supply chain optimisation
• Proficiency in Office 365 and ERP systems (OrderWise preferred)
• Excellent organisation, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
