Summary

This role sits within the wider Procurement Team and will lead and manage procurement activities across a portfolio of projects with contract oversight and supplier management responsibility. The role will provide procurement expertise, knowledge, and supply chain management skills to develop and implement appropriate project procurement strategies that will deliver contracts at the lowest overall cost.

Location

Ideally based near Glasgow, but open to candidates from Leeds or the NE.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the local leadership team in developing and profiling the procurement team, ensuring collaborative working techniques are deployed with project and work-winning teams.
2. Lead supplier performance reviews, engage project teams, and ensure feedback and improvement plans are implemented.
3. Support work-winning teams with procurement data, expertise, and advice.
4. Assist project delivery teams in pre-commencement phases by publishing known/national SLAs and developing project-specific SLAs with key suppliers.
5. Lead all project procurement activities.
6. Conduct regular project procurement review meetings.
7. Operate as the hands-on procurement lead on projects, ensuring effective procurement strategies are produced and adhered to.
8. Establish and own project procurement targets with project teams.
9. Maintain savings trackers and report to senior leaders and Supply Chain Leader.
10. Produce monthly reports for procurement and contract dashboards and support project teams during contract review meetings.
11. Participate in post-contract reviews to evaluate supply chain and procurement performance and capture lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in MEP/Engineering, with the ability to quickly adapt within a busy team with a strong project pipeline. The candidate should be comfortable with both hands-on and strategic aspects, understanding how details fit into the broader procurement context. Experience working on projects and with central functions, particularly in setting up central supplier agreements, is essential.
